Data Changelog
This log lists material corrections and surface changes PlainUtility applied after publication. Each entry is past-tense and tied to a repository commit; we do not invent rows to pad the list. How to report an issue is on the editorial & corrections policy and the typed corrections pathway. This public log starts on 2026-08-08. Data current as of 2026-08-30.

· Index-surface
Hard-404 invalid ?page= on non-paginated hubs (and page<1 anywhere) in middleware before prerender skip, and reject ignored ?sort= on /rankings. Base soft-noindex for page>1 left page=0/-1 indexable; prerendered /tools ignored robots entirely. /utilities keeps its own multi-page upper-bound and filter gates.
-
· Index-surface
Rejected empty and invalid /utilities listing variants (bad state/type filters, page<1, exhausted pages) with real HTTP 404 instead of indexable soft-200s.
-
· Data integrity
Pinned the best/worst reliability research ranking and its national AVG(saidi) context to the same global MAX(year) cohort as state_stats / rankings / tools. The prior unfiltered JOIN mixed 2020–2023 filings (duplicate utilities; 8/10 best rows pre-2023) while prose claimed a single latest year.
-
· Data integrity
Coupled the utility-rate-compare type benchmarks and national SAIDI/SAIFI averages to the same global MAX(year) reliability cohort used by state_stats (2023), replacing a per-utility latest-year mix and an unweighted state-mean labeled as customer-weighted.
-
· Index-surface
Replaced portal-wide sitemap lastmods on main, research, and rankings routes with per-route page-vintage stamps from git history and data vintage.
-
· Index-surface
Advertised /author and /grid-hardening in sitemap-main so trust chrome matched the indexable surface.
-
· Index-surface
Converted soft-404 hub redirects on unknown /state and /utility slugs into real HTTP 404 responses with noindex.
